Phil wasn’t always a photographer. Ending his career as a bus driver by doing a handbrake turn, he travelled the world spending 6 months photographing scuba students in Queensland, Australia. Back in the U.K. he worked freelance in London, he became known as a photographer that would deliver unique and engaging photography.

Companies started to hire Phil to tell stories with his photography. These photographs illustrated those stories online in marketing campaigns, in populating company websites with visual content and in marketing strategies on social media.

Avant Photographic was founded in Eastbourne 2007 in a studio on South Street, Little Chelsea. Clients discovered his unique ability to photograph their families & businesses, establishing AvantPhoto as a reliable and creative photographer in the UK.

There is no greater privilege than seeing the photos I have taken having a positive effect for a business, bringing visitors to a website via a post on social media. Seeing my photos displayed proudly in clients homes and documenting the growth of their families is one of the greatest rewards of being a valued photographer.
